A few weeks ago one of my favorite machinery stores had a massive “Everything On Sale” weekend. This is dangerous for an impuls buyer like myself… Long story short I hooked up the trailer and with a worried looking credit card went for a short drive to pick up a new 17″ 2hp bandsaw.

You may have heard me mention in the past that my older 12″ bandsaw was not up-to the task in a few videos, and this saw only proves this statement to be true!

I guess the major improvements would have to be…. well, everything! There is no avoiding the fact that this saw runs leaps and bounds around the old saw with the quality of cut, accuracy, dust collection, fence, table quality, blade choice, not to forget the massive improvement with the massive 300mm depth of cut!

I have been super busy getting my shop moved into its new space and I am yet to use the saw for any more then re-sawing a hand full of veneers, and multiple rip cuts but Im sure its going to perform amazingly with its smaller blades on curved templates work.
